U.S. immigration updates: A federal court has granted Harvard’s motion for a temporary restraining order halting enforcement of the June 4 presidential proclamation while our case proceeds. The court also extended its previous order, stopping the federal government from revoking Harvard’s Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) certification. A hearing has been scheduled for June 16.

Stephen Michael Impink

Michael Impink was an instructor at Harvard Extension School, where he taught Management of Technology and Strategies for the Digital Economy, and a fellow at Harvard University’s Weatherhead Center for International Affairs. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Strategy at HEC Paris and a research affiliate at Hi! Paris (AI for Society and Business) and Boston University TPRI. 

Michael holds a PhD in Management from NYU Stern, where his research focuses on how digitization impacts firm structure and performance. His recent work explores the relationship between high-tech startups and Big Tech firms, investigating how resources shared through these connections influence innovation in emerging technologies. 

Prior to his PhD, Michael was a senior manager at Microsoft, working in both Seattle and Singapore. He also holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth, a master’s degree in economics from Duke University, and a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Georgia.
