Zal Phiroz.

Dr. Zal Phiroz is an established specialist in marketing segmentation and global supply chain practices. He has held a number of academic, executive, and senior management roles, including appointments at USC (Marshall), Harvard University, Proctor & Gamble (NYSE:PG), TELUS (NYSE:T).

In his work at Procter & Gamble, Dr. Phiroz managed a number of national and international projects in partnership with Wal-Mart, Target, Walgreens, and CVS. In charge of both vertical and horizontal lines across several billion-dollar brands, Dr. Phiroz quarterbacked numerous national supply chain optimization initiatives involving flagship P&G brands (e.g., Iams, Tide, Folgers).

As a founding partner at Pier Consulting Group Inc., Dr. Phiroz collaborates directly with medium- to large-sized corporations, including several Fortune 1000 clients, on supply chain optimization projects. Projects have included simulated projection and forecasting, regression analysis, and clustering evaluation for quantification of supply chain opportunities/vulnerabilities.

In addition to holding a PhD in Supply Chain Management (UCT), Dr. Phiroz holds an MBA (WSU), and two undergraduate degrees in Computer Science (UW). He has held faculty appointments at Harvard University, UCLA, University of Southern California, and is a regularly invited keynote speaker. Dr. Phiroz’s latest book, entitled Perspectives of Supply Chain Competitiveness — A Handbook, was released in June 2020. Other peer reviewed articles and presentations have focused largely on impacts and projections on global supply chains.
