Stacy Blake-Beard
Dr. Stacy Blake-Beard served as the Deloitte-Ellen Gabriel Chair for Women and Leadership at Simmons College (2016-2019), an endowed role recognizing her contributions to advancing women’s leadership and organizational transformation. She has held faculty appointments at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and Simmons University School of Business, where her teaching and research focused on leadership, mentoring, and organizational behavior.
Her work examines how leaders build trust, connection, and intercultural agility in environments shaped by rapid technological, demographic, and global change. She integrates research on mentoring, identity, and the emerging influence of AI on developmental relationships, offering leaders evidence-based frameworks for strengthening relational capacity and navigating complexity. Her global portfolio includes partnerships and research across India, Europe, Africa, and the Caribbean, with a particular focus on the systemic forces shaping women’s career opportunities and constraints worldwide.
Dr. Blake-Beard received a Fulbright Award for her project, “Systems of Sustenance and Support: Exploring the Impact of Mentoring on the Career Experiences of Indian Women,” conducted with the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad. She is the author of Mentoring Diverse Leaders: Creating Change for People, Processes, and Paradigms and the Handbook of Research on Promoting Women’s Careers. Her work has been supported by the National Science Foundation, the Ford Foundation, and the Robert Toigo Foundation, and she has collaborated with Stanford University’s Clayman Institute for Gender Research on their Voice & Influence series.
She serves on the Board of Advisors for the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and on the Board of Directors for Cohort Sistas, reflecting her commitment to expanding equity, voice, and belonging across cultural and academic institutions.
